For those of you who want to unroot/unbrick your LG G5 with 100% stock factory firmware because you need to return the phone for warranty or perhaps you just want to restore a bricked LG G5, here’s how to do it easily using TOT/KDZ stock factory firmware files and LG UP program.
*Note – You will need a Windows computer to do this.
This will work on the following LG G5 models:
- T-Mobile LG G5 H830
- Sprint LG G5 LS992
- Verizon LG G5 VS987
- European LG G5 H850
- Rogers Canadian LG G5 H831
Step 1. Power off your LG G5. Then hold down the Volume Up key and connect a USB cable from your phone to your computer.
You should see “Firmware Update” screen on your LG G5.
Step 2. Download all the necessary files for your model of LG G5, you can download them all here.
You will need to download DLL and stock firmware for your model of LG G5, also LG G5 USB driver and the LG UP program.
Go ahead and run DLL, USB driver, and LG UP program to install them all (just double-click on the files).
Also unzip the stock firmware and you should get a file ending in either “.tot” or “.kdz”.
Step 3. If you have the DLL and USB drivers installed correctly, you should see “LGE AndroidNet USB modem” like below in your Device Manager.
Step 4. Run the LG UP program you installed earlier, you should see a COM port number with highlighted line like below.
